Zoom Meeting
The LAAFP Member’s meeting, via Zoom, was called to order by President, Jerry Abraham, MD. Everyone was welcomed and each participant gave an introduction. There were 17 members in attendance. All names are on record. Executive Director, Joe Kuns, was also present.
The November 9, 2024, LAAFP Annual Meeting Minutes were presented by Dr. Abraham for approval. He made the motion to approve the minutes as printed in the agenda. It was moved and seconded. There was no discussion, and the report was unanimously approved.
Dr. Abraham offered the motion to accept the 2024 Treasurer’s Report as linked in the agenda. The motion was moved and seconded and unanimously accepted.
The 2025 Budget was discussed. Dr. Rebecca Bertin raised a concern over a possible delay or reduction of CAFP membership dues due to the California wildfires. The Executive Director was asked to seek clarification from CAFP to determine if the disbursement would be affected. There was brief discussion of the need to reduce expenditures and increase outreach to encourage members to renew their CAFP memberships. Members were reminded of upcoming CME sessions and encouraged to attend future LAAFP events. Dr. Abraham offered a motion to accept the 2025 LAAFP Budget. It was moved and seconded, and the budget was unanimously accepted.
Dr. Abraham led a discussion regarding AMAM resolutions. Each resolution was reviewed, and no extractions were requested. The board discussed the upcoming AMAM and the new process for handling resolutions, with an emphasis on the role of delegates. The board discussed the need to identify a presenter to comment on the Primary Care for All (PCFA) report. Dr. Michelle Crespo and Dr. Christopher Hiromura volunteered to present at AMAM on behalf of the LAAFP. Members were invited to collaborate via Google Docs to provide additional input for that presentation, Dr. Abraham offered to create a WhatsApp chat for AMAM delegates, and they discussed future event venues and LAAFP activities.
