The meeting was called to order by President Rebecca Bertin, MD. Fifteen members and guests were in attendance, including Executive Director, Roxanne Kuns. Individual introductions were made. All names have been placed on record.
A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes of the September 20, 2018, Annual Meeting as printed in the October Newsletter and the Agenda. The minutes were unanimously approved.
A motion was made and seconded to accept the October 31, 2018, Treasurer’s Report presented by Assistant Secretary-Treasurer, Po-Yin Samuel Huang, MD. The report was unanimously approved as printed in the Agenda.
The 2019 Executive Board election results were also printed in the Agenda. Dr. Bertin announced that Scott Nass, MD, has moved out of the LA area and asked for a recommendation to fill two positions he left vacant, Assistant Secretary-Treasurer and Delegate to the AMAM. Greg Lewis, MD, volunteered to fill the positions. There was unanimous approval that Dr. Lewis be moved from Alternate-Delegate to Delegate and that he assume the title of Assistant Secretary-Treasurer for the year of 2019.
The meeting was adjourned.
Following the meeting, Heather Jue Northover, Director of the Center for Health Equity, a Los Angeles County Health Agency, presented an initiative led by the Department of Public Health entitled “A Call to Action, Creating a Movement: The Center for Health Equity Action Plan.” A time of Q & A followed the presentation.
