The Los Angeles Academy of Family Physicians (LAAFP) expresses significant concern regarding recent immigration enforcement activities in Los Angeles County, recognizing the substantial negative impact these actions have on community health. We advocate for the health and safety of our patients, colleagues, and community members.
In alignment with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the California Academy of Family Physicians CAFP, the LAAFP firmly supports policies that uphold basic human rights and opposes any immigration enforcement actions that create barriers to vital health care services, including comprehensive primary care.
We believe in the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of all individuals in Los Angeles, and support actions that promote accessible health care.
The LAAFP remains dedicated to providing continued resources, advocacy, and support to our members who care for immigrant populations during these challenging times.
