The meeting was called to order by President, Po-Yin Samuel Huang, MD., being held at four locations simultaneously (Manhattan Beach, North Hollywood, Pasadena; West Covina). A total of thirty-eight members and guests were in attendance. All names are on record. Roxanne Kuns, Executive Director, was also present.
Dr. Huang called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone via Zoom at each in-person location.
Dr. Huang then asked for a motion to accept the minutes of the March 13, 2022, meeting as printed in the April Newsletter and in the Agenda. The motion was moved and seconded. The minutes were approved by unanimous vote.
Assistant Secretary Treasurer, Dr. Divya Shenoy, presented the Treasurer’s Report for January – April, 2022, as printed in the Agenda. Having no discussion, a motion was moved and seconded to accept the report as presented, followed by a unanimous vote of acceptance.
Dr. Huang presented the Old Business 1) LAAFP Meet & Greet Update: There were 15 active, resident and medical students who attended our reception at the CAFP Family Medicine Clinical Forum on April 23, 2022, hosted by Dr. Divya Shenoy. 2) Two medical students each received a $600 scholarship to attend the CAFP Forum.
The meeting was adjourned.
Following the meeting, Dr. Rebecca Bertin gave a CME presentation entitled: “An Overview of Health Literacy for Family Physicians.” This presentation was reviewed and accepted by the AAFP for up to 1.00 Live AAFP prescribed credit.
