Zoom Meeting | October 22, 2026
The meeting was called to order by Chapter President, Dr. Stacey Ludwig, with 15 members in attendance and the Executive Director. The group reviewed and approved the minutes from their previous meeting held on May 20th at Topgolf in El Segundo.
Secretary Treasurer, Dr. Michelle Crespo reported on the Treasurer’s Report for January – August 2026. Dr. Ludwig called for a motion to approve the report and the minutes from the previous meeting. The motion was seconded, and approved by the members present.
Dr. Ludwig reported that 77 members attended the Family Medicine Prism of Practice (POP!) Conference in San Diego, making it the second largest group in attendance. The group discussed available scholarships for faculty to become ALSO instructors, with up to $1,200 available to cover registration and travel expenses. The planned day of service at the LA Food Bank was cancelled due to low volunteer turnout, though Dr. Ludwig noted it left the organization in a good financial position for future meetings.
The group discussed the need for a new resident board member nomination since the current resident board member is now graduated. The Executive Director confirmed a plan to reach out to delegates in early January 2027 to confirm delegate attendance.
The meeting focused on nominations for the LAAFP board and upcoming events. Dr. Chen-Joea made a nomination of two residents and would email the contact information for the nominees to the Executive Director.
The group discussed plans for an upcoming LAAFP Friends and Family event at USC and the California Science Center, which will include a luncheon and access to the museum. Several members volunteered to serve as delegates or alternate delegates, and the group agreed to post on social media to encourage more volunteers. Dr. Bertin provided an update on CAFP board matters, including changes to the resolution process and the availability of an updated policy compendium on the CAFP website.
The meeting was adjourned.
